Chemainus Harvest House Society respects the privacy of all our clients, donors and site visitors and complies with all aspects of Canada’s Personal Information and Electronic Documents Act. The only personal information that we gather from clients, donors and site visitors is that which you voluntarily provide.

Site Visitors

Chemainus Harvest House Society does not track visitors using cookies and any general statistics gathered from our site traffic are used only for our own purposes. We do not request site visitors to provide any personal information in order to contact us unless specifically requested by the visitor. 

If you do choose to provide us with personal information through any form present on this site, this information is not distributed or used by any third party.

Donors

Chemainus Harvest House Society will only request specific information from donors in order to complete a donation transaction. The information is added to our donor database, but this information will not be sold, traded or otherwise distributed to any other organization or company. We do not use personal information to conduct direct mail or phone solicitation campaigns.

Any credit card information is captured in a secure environment. Chemainus Harvest House Society utilizes CanadaHelps secure online payment gateway. The information entered is handled directly by CanadaHelps and their payment processing system. Square is another way to accept card transactions used specifically for events. Data and card information is not recorded, the only information is for tax purposes, and only at the discretion of the donor.

Clients

Chemainus Harvest House Society only requests specific information in order to process requests for food related assistance. The information is added to our client database and held in the strictest confidence. CHHS uses a service called Link2Feed for entering and tracking client data. We ask for names, birthdates and household size of clients to register, however, this is not mandatory. Clients do not need to provide any details and can simply use the food bank as an anonymous client if preferred. This information will not be sold, traded or otherwise distributed to any other organization or third party.
